Consistency – #IssaGoal

Hi Guys, welcome back to the blog and Happy New Month!

We are now in February and already the weeks are going by fast and I am reminded that there are goals to achieve and things to be done. In today’s blog post I want to briefly speak about consistency. One thing that I have noticed, especially in our generation, is that it is very easy to start something, but staying consistent and finishing, not so easy. Now this is not to say that life does not happen or that obstacles do not arise, but it is time for us to say bye to starting things and not finishing, and for more of us to be consistent in and on purpose!

So what is consistency then?

Consistency is acting or doing something in the same way over time, i.e. for a period of time. Now let us not lie to each other, staying consistent can be so hard at times, especially when things are not going according to plan. We may start the year encouraged by our goals, excited about the vision God has given us, but a few months into the year, discouragement may kick in, fear may kick in, doubt may even kick in and you may then start to notice that your consistency levels are dropping, bit by bit. But consistency is not impossible. Today I am here to share with you a few things I am learning about consistency.

πŸ’ŽIn order to be consistent you need to plan

Not only is it important to have a plan but it is important to follow through with your plan. This is not to say that you cannot deviate from your plan when necessary, but we need to be more intentional and not just go with the flow. So many people instead of having a plan or schedule go with the flow, but at the end of the day they have nothing to show from that flow. One thing that we need to remember is that it is possible to be consistent in the wrong things. But once you have a plan according to purpose it will be easy to ignore the distractions so that you will not waste time being consistent in the wrong things.

It is not just enough to be consistent, but we must learn to be consistent in the right things at the right time!

πŸ’ŽIn order to be consistent you need to be flexible and adapt to change

Now I have just spoken about the importance of having a plan. But what is probably even more important is flexibity. It is so important to adapt to change especially as everything in society is always evolving. So whether this be in respect of your career, business, relationships, health, finances, ministry or even just your day-to-day life do not be afraid to adapt to changing seasons as this way we can remain consistent in the right ways, at the right time and all in accordance to purpose. Sometimes we like to rush but one key nugget I have held on to concerning consistency is to take my time. Building consistency does not happen over night, so instead of us being hard on ourselves, let us give ourselves time to adapt as we begin or continue on this journey of consistency, step by step.

I hope that someone has been blessed with this small word and that more of us learn consistency in accordance to the seasons of our life and learn to adapt as we continue to learn and grow. As you go through the rest of this year, continue to run your own race and take time out every now and again to evaluate whether you are being consistent in the things which will help you achieve your goals and reach your God given purpose.

Remember, consistency is key. Stay consistent, master your craft and continue to commit your works to the Lord.

Love you all and God bless ❀
